Pure Music - A musical Experiment

A musical Experiment

Organised by RESEO and Konzert Theater Bern - April 2018

“Pure Music” was an experimental project developed within the framework of the RESEO Spring Conference 2018, Shifting Perspectives, in collaboration with Konzert Theater Bern.

A group of four young adults was given two days to rethink the traditional classical concert experience. The project offered them the opportunity to test unconventional and innovative ideas with a professional string quartet. It was a unique chance to explore new formats, challenge established concert conventions, and create alternative ways of engaging audiences with chamber music.

Through brainstorming sessions, rehearsals, discussions, and the exchange of numerous ideas, we developed a concept that showcased new settings and possibilities for the contemporary chamber music concert.

Following the well-received performance, an open discussion took place between the project team, the musicians, and the audience. The exchange of impressions, emotions, and ideas proved both inspiring and thought-provoking. Bringing together the perspectives of musicians, dancers, actors, composers, directors, and audience members, the project ultimately demonstrated how collaborative experimentation can generate fresh and meaningful approaches to classical music performance.
